Fruit salad with mint
Make a light syrup with about 1 cup of sugar and 2 of water and add a bunch of spearmint before bringing to the boil. Allow to cool to room temperature, remove and discard the mint and then pour the syrup over a mix of fresh fruit such as strawberries, raspberries and blueberries and decorate with a few mint leaves.... more »

My take on Corned Beef Hash
This is a dish I have never actually ever eaten cooked by anyone else but I tried this again tonight and was quite taken by it. Chopped some onions and sweated them in a little olive oil till they were cooked through. Added some 1cm cubes of cooked new potato (warmed through in microwave) and some chopped garlic.... more »

Prices
I just finished a little post on TJ'S and got to thinking. How many food items do you think you know the average price of? 20, 50, 200? What I use
Foldtuk bakeware/ cookware is my favorite. It doesn't break like a Pyrex. It cooks faster. It collapses... goes freezer to oven with no thaw time. I figured you all would appreciate the recommendation... I seriously use mine all the time! :)

OT: Olympic Soccer
OT: Olympic Soccer I'm watching the U.S.A. vs. Brazil gold medal soccer match and don't recall enjoying soccer much in the past but they're putting on quite a show! Equally matched, naturally, to get to the finals. Way more fun than volleyball, imho. Still waiting for high jump and pole vault and discus. I hope I didn't miss... more »
